For the next gathering in Black Joy Kitchen’s Chef’s Table Series,
Chef Ting and the Black Joy Kitchen team invite you to a deeply intentional evening:

Ottolenghi x Tamimi x Black Joy
We Choose Peace: A Most Unusual Seder

This is not a traditional Seder, but a reimagining—one that honors ritual while expanding the table.
Rooted in the spirit of gathering, storytelling, and liberation, this evening brings together the culinary voices of Israel, Palestine, Morocco, and the broader diasporic kitchen in a way that feels both reverent and boldly new.

The menu moves across borders with care and clarity—matzoh ball soup that comforts and anchors, vibrant salads layered with citrus and herbs, slow-cooked mejadara, and dishes rich with sumac, honey, and spice. You’ll encounter chraimeh in both sea and soil, roasted vegetables that carry brightness and depth, and a final course kissed with rosewater and memory.

Each plate reflects a conversation—between cultures, histories, and homelands. Between tradition and reinterpretation.
Between what has been and what could be.

This evening is about choosing connection over division, presence over performance,
and peace as both practice and offering.

At this table, stories are held with care.
Flavors are layered with intention.
And the act of sharing a meal becomes something deeper
—an invitation to witness, to reflect, and to gather across difference.

Come as you are. There is a place for you here.
