A continuation of Black Joy Kitchen’s Chef’s Table Series — this gathering carries us to Ethiopia, tracing a breathtaking journey from the highlands to the hearth. Here, ancient grains meet bold spice, coffee becomes ceremony, and stories are passed hand to hand, generation to generation. Each dish holds the rhythm of the land it comes from — rich, intentional, alive.
A feast where heritage, joy, and reverence meet, inviting us to slow down, gather close, and come home to the table.

Buticha
Buticha is an Ethiopian dip made with chickpeas or fava beans, mixed with onions, peppers, lemon juice, olive oil, mustard, cloves, and other spices. 

Timatim Salata
Diced tomatoes, minced onions, and finely chopped peppers dressed with a mixture of berbere spices, olive oil, vinegar, and lemon juice. Serve with dark injera chips.

Fossolia
Fossolia is a simple vegetable dish made with green beans as its primary ingredient. The beans are cooked till tender with other ingredients like onions, garlic, ginger, carrots, tomatoes, and black pepper.
