A continuance of Black Joy Kitchen’s Chef’s Table Series

1️⃣ Ackee & Saltfish with Johnny Cakes and Fried Ripe Plantains

Jamaica’s national dish — sautéed ackee and salted codfish — served alongside golden fried dumplings and sweet plantains.
Vegetarian Option: Steamed Callaloo & Cabbage with Fried Dumplings and Fried Ripe Plantains
Ingredients: Escallion, onion, garlic, black pepper, thyme

2️⃣ Jerk Chicken with Festival

Chicken marinated in fragrant herbs and fiery spices, grilled over open flame, and served with festival — sweet fried cornbread dumplings.
(Please note: festival is distinct from traditional fried dumplings.)
Ingredients: Scotch bonnet pepper, scallions, thyme, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, jerk seasoning & spices
Festival: Flour, cornmeal, sugar
Sauces on the side: Ketchup and house jerk sauce

3️⃣ Curry Chicken or Curry Chickpeas with Rice & Peas or White Rice

Tender chicken (or chickpeas) simmered in rich Jamaican curry broth — hearty, aromatic, and deeply comforting.
Ingredients: Jamaican curry powder, onion, scallions, carrots, Irish potatoes, ginger, garlic, seasonings

4️⃣ Jamaican Cornmeal Pudding with Rum Sauce

A sweet, moist, island-classic dessert drizzled with rum sauce — warm, spiced, and perfectly joyful.
Ingredients: Fine cornmeal, coconut milk, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla
